Event short description
Unplug and unwind as a team while you create something tangible with your own two hands. Start with mindfulness exercises including seated stretches, meditation and breathwork to help transition from work time to "clay" time as you learn to build a footed pinch pot. Then you’ll head over to our paint table - stocked with an array of colors - and pick your favorites to decorate your hand built pottery once it has dried in 2-3 days (optional). No experience or kiln needed!

How it works
Share the joy of creativity and stress relief alongside coworkers with a mindfulness-focused team pottery workshop. Led by 'Pottery with a Purpose' founder - and certified yoga teacher - Sam Hoff, class will start with 30 minutes of focused breathwork, meditation, and seated stretches that attendees can use to benefit their physical and mental health long after the class ends. For the remaining hour, you'll experience the stress-relief of molding clay with your hands, as you learn to build a footed pot. This hands-on art form has been shown to help ease anxiety and improve mindfulness.
Things you'll need
Each guest will need to supply the items below to participate fully in this event.
- You may be more comfortable if you clip your nails, tie long hair back, and keep your rings off. Long nails and hair, as well as jewelry can get in the way while you're working with the clay. This is by no means mandatory but something to consider for your own comfort.
