Full details

How it works

A virtual honey presentation that kicks off with a lively and detailed look at how honey is made with illustrations and images that cover hive architecture, bee’s role in agriculture, foraging, and the many forms of honey. The presentation culminates in a honey tasting of 5 different varietals and a cocktail demo of the classic, “Bees Knees” using the honey in the kit.

You'll start out with a welcome and introduction by Kim Haasarud, then drive right into unpacking and tasting the honey varietals with your tasting map. You'll walk-through tasting of each of the 5 honey varietals and their properties before having the option to prepare your honey syrup and gin-based Bee's Knees Cocktail while discussing the history of the drink during the Prohibition Era. You'll close with the opportunity to have a Q&A session for all those burning honey or cocktail-related questions.

A Note From Your Host: In addition to being a mixologist, I'm also a self-proclaimed honey ambassador! While honey has always been a staple in my arsenal of ingredients, I really started playing around with varietals and it was mind-blowing - just the nuance and complexities that honey can bring to a drink. My hope is that you walk away from this experience with a new-found love of honey and how to use it in your drinks!
