How it works

We will learn the very first clay forms humans all over the world made- pinch pots! With this foundational skill you can then take on more complex projects and have a starting point for all other ceramic projects. Your host, Shahane, will show you the fundamentals of hand-building for a ninety-minute workshop.

Clay is a living, breathing element. Learning to work with natural material to make unique and useful items is a therapeutic experience that creates space for you to connect. During this experience, you will learn how to handle clay and make pinch pots with a professional ceramicist who is a co-owner of her own studio Village Clay in Brookline, MA.

Each participant will receive a box in advance of this experience, including enough air-dry clay to make a few ceramic pieces and a beginners tool kit that can be reused to create additional pots, wall hangings, planters, and more after the experience is over.
