Bond your team by learning a genuinely new skill together: lock picking! Your host is a former penetration tester who was paid to break into buildings, and he'll show you how locks work, how they're defeated, and then challenge your team with increasingly tricky picks. Every attendee gets their own lock picking kit shipped to their door.

How it works

Two weeks before your event, every attendee receives their own kit with professional lock picking tools and a practice lock. On the day, our host walks your team through how locks and picks really work, with live demos and plenty of hands-on guidance. Then it's over to you: put your new skills to the test with a series of progressively harder picking challenges.

  • Can I open the package before the event?

    We strongly recommend that you keep your lock picking package wrapped up before hand! It can be tempting to start trying things out on your own but we recommend keeping things for the class so nothing breaks ahead of time and we can properly teach you to learn lock picking.

  • Is there anything I need to prepare ahead of time?

    Just make sure every guest has their lock pick kit, access to the meeting link and get ready to have fun!

  • Do I need to have any prior experience?

    Absolutely not! This event is great for beginners and you won't need to have any prior experience. We assume every guest do not have any lock picking experience.

  • Is Lockpicking Legal?

A breakdown of how the event will go
  • 0:00 – Welcome & unboxing (5 min). Introductions, everyone opens their kit, and a quick tour of the tools and the practice lock.
  • 0:05 – How locks work (10 min). A live demo inside a cutaway lock showing pins, springs and the shear line, and why most locks can be defeated.
  • 0:15 – First pick (10 min). Step-by-step guidance on applying tension and setting pins one at a time, with everyone working toward their first open lock.
  • 0:25 – Team challenges (25 min). A series of progressively harder picking challenges, with the host on hand to help anyone who's stuck.
  • 0:50 – Q&A & tales from the field (10 min). Your questions answered, then your host closes with real stories from his years as a penetration tester, paid to break into buildings.

Process and timeline

    Collect Addresses

    Use Elevent's system to collect the addresses and any other information needed for the event. Or collect on your own and upload in the portal.

    Submit Addresses

    Up to 14 days prior to the event for free domestic shipping. International shipping is available but is not included in the price and will incur additional costs.

    Kits Shipped

    Guests receive all of their shipments directly to each address provided. See Shipping Policy or Exclusions for details.

    Real-time Tracking Monitoring

    Every guest will receive tracking notification emails with when to expect their kit. You will receive email digests of all guest shipment statuses and be able to access all guest tracking and statuses in your event portal.
