Event short description
The cruise ship, Allure of the Sea is known for its
stellar entertainment, free-flowing booze and
fantastic staff.
This is all run, seamlessly, by Alanis Aukai, Hawaii native and Cruise Director. For her passengers’ last day docked in Maui, Alanis has organized a killer luau at the Floating Turtle, the hottest tiki bar on the island. There are hula dancers, surf champions, and frozen cocktails—everything her guests could want.
However, after Alanis is found crumpled behind the kālua pig, strangled to death by a lei, madness ensues. With all chances of smooth sailing out the window, it’s up to you to solve her murder.

How it works
Trouble in Paradise is an immersive adventure where 10-12 participants play suspects in the murder of Alanis, vivacious cruise director, while additional guests become members of the Bouncers at the Floating Turtle Tiki Bar and attempt to solve the crime. A host shapes every part of your encounter, delivering real-time information via zoom chat, and guides you each step of the way so it’s always entertaining and comfortable.
Unlike others, our mysteries are a one-of-a-kind format comprised entirely of participant interaction. Everyone plays an equally engaging character. Virtual events can accommodate guests with character dossiers and event information (including custom zoom backgrounds, themed recipes, costume suggestions, and playlists) being sent out ahead of time to maximize excitement. A host will facilitate the entire event and handle all logistics, including running and organizing the video chat, reaching out to your guest list, assigning characters, and ensuring everyone has an unforgettable time. Please note that the character assignments are required for this event to run.
This experience is entirely comprised of participant interaction. All guests will be characters and suspects in a murder investigation. Our murder mysteries are a unique way to escape reality and have fun. There is no need to be an actor or extrovert—most guests are neither. Once the experience begins, we use a combination of scripted moments with guided, in-character improv, to ensure that your experience is fully immersive.
