Frequently asked questions
  • What set up is required?
    • Technologically, this class is hosted on a video conferencing platform (Zoom, Teams, etc). The facilitator uses Zoom for events they host, but is willing to use whichever platform works best for you and asks that you provide that link.
    • Physically, folks will need a quiet and comfortable place to sit. Your host will guide the breathwork portions of this event as if everyone is seated in a chair, but participants are welcome to sit on a couch, bed, floor, or whatever is most comfortable to them.
  • Do participants need to have their cameras on?

Participants are welcome to have their cameras on or off. Having your camera on is not required for participation, though some organizations may ask their employee to do so.

  • How does this program work?

Folks will sign onto the video call and we'll take typically 1-2 minutes for them to join. The facilitator will take time to explain the flow of the event, answer any preliminary questions, and to set the tone. The event will then follow the “run of show” listed above. The event will end 1-2 minutes before the scheduled end time for questions and the facilitator will provide links to additional resources, if needed.

  • Can this event be recorded?

Yes! If you’d like your event recorded, select the “Event Recording” add-on during booking for an additional fee. If you’ve already booked your event and decide you want it recorded, let the host know and we can send you an additional invoice. The recording fee applies to all events, regardless if the host or customer is doing the recording. Events recorded by your host will be lightly edited, cutting out banter at the beginning and end of events, and the files will be delivered to you within 24-hours of the event’s end time. All recordings are the intellectual property of the host/facilitator, may not be reproduced, and may only be distributed internally within your organization.

  • Can we use my organization’s link for this event?

Yes! During the booking process, you can add your link (or shortly after booking, if it’s not ready yet). Your host can accommodate Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meets, and WebEx links. Otherwise, your host will, by default, provide a Zoom link for this event.

  • Which style of Breathwork is taught for this event?

While there are many styles and brands of breathwork, your host is trained primarily in Yogic breathwork practices (commonly called Pranayama), though they may incorporate components from other traditions. All breathwork practices will be presented in a secular, non-esoteric context, as to be accessible and respectful to all.

  • How challenging are the breathing exercises?

This class is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible, with the host offering alternatives and modifications throughout. No prior experience is necessary. With that said, some folks may have limitations that prevent them from doing some of the exercises. In all cases, participants are asked to listen to their bodies and do or don’t do exercises accordingly. If participants don’t want to do, can’t do, or should not do an exercise, they are encouraged to sit that exercise out or modify it if they know how. Personal safety first!

Agenda / Run of show

A breakdown of how the event will go

This session will begin with a short talk on the biological functions of the breath, the function of the autonomic nervous system, and how to use the breath to regulate the nervous system. The second half of the session will feature three separate breathwork practices that explore up-regulating, down-regulating, and balancing out the nervous system. The goal is to provide folks with different practices to use when they are feeling anxious, depressed, or generally unregulated.
