Virtual Scavenger Hunts

Virtual Scavenger Hunt FAQs

• What are virtual scavenger hunts?

Virtual scavenger hunts are online events that challenge participants to solve puzzles or find objects before time runs out. Virtual scavenger hunts allow all participants to participate over a video conferencing platform from the comfort of their own homes. The host will present a challenge or an item to find each round and participants will compete against each to be the first to complete the challenge or find the item. We also have in-person scavenger hunts in New York, Austin, and San Francisco. Many of the scavenger hunts have specific themes focused on a location in the world or a topic like museums or outer space. Virtual scavenger hunts are great team building and team bonding events.

• How long do virtual scavenger hunts last?

Virtual scavenger hunts usually last between 60 and 90 minutes but can be customized to be longer or shorter. The number of rounds in the scavenger hunt will vary from game to game depending on the number of participants and the speed of each round.

• Can virtual scavenger hunts be played in teams?

Yes! Some virtual scavenger hunts are geared more towards individuals competing against each other, but many allow for teams to work together and compete against other teams to be the fastest to complete challenges or find objects. Playing as a team can lead to improved teamwork and communication while allowing teammates to connect with each other while competing in a fun event. Either way you choose to play your virtual scavenger hunt, the competitive juices will be flowing.

• Are virtual scavenger hunts good for team building?

Virtual scavenger hunts are very good for team building as all of the teams will be interacting and creating relationships with each other that they will remember and bond over. Most virtual hunts also take a picture or video and share it with the group after completion of the virtual scavenger hunt.  Each hunt will include a virtual scavenger hunt list for coworkers that they need to find during the event.  A virtual scavenger hunt for remote employees is a great way to get the remote group together and really bond.

• What is the average cost of a virtual scavenger hunt?

An online scavenger hunt typically costs from $45 a person all the way to $100 per person or some of the options are a flat rate.  Most virtual scavenger hunts range from one hour to two hours in duration and the group is able to solve the challenge in the allotted time.

• What does it take to be successful in an online scavenger hunt?

To be successful in an online scavenger hunt you need to be thoughtful and creative.  Depending on the type of hunt, it may be how quickly you can move around the internet and interpret clues to find the objects you are looking for.  Either way, the best part is the fun.  Enjoy your hunt!
